How proud we are for our daughter Stephanie to be receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Messiah College in May 2006! Messiah College was always Stephanie's first choice of colleges to attend, but finances were a concern. Thanks to Messiah's generous offering of scholarship money to Stephanie, her dream of attending became a reality! What a blessing her education has been!
Stephanie spent her first two years on Messiah's main campus, and her last two years have been spent on Messiah's Philadelphia campus. From Mechanicsburg to Philadelphia, Stephanie has been blessed with nurturing, thought-provoking professors, many of whom have also served as mentors, to wonderful fellow classmates who will probably be lifelong friends! We have continually been impressed with Messiah's philosophy of service to humanity, whether in the inner city through urban ministries or service projects taking place on the mission field abroad! In no way does Messiah present itself as "elitist," and that is such a compliment!
Several years ago, Stephanie attended a mission fair at Messiah. As a result, she became aware of an organization called Youthworks. This organization so impressed Stephanie that she passed on information regarding them to her older sister. To sum it up, her sister has been employed by Youthworks, part-time and full-time, for the past three years doing God's work! She is now one of the organization's regional directors. Stephanie herself has been employed by Youthworks for the past two summers, has worked in New Orleans and Atlanta, and will return this summer to work for them in Atlanta. We strongly feel tha, if it were not for the information provided at Messiah's mission fair, the opportunties at Youthwork would have never happened!
Stephanie has been accepted into the Peace Corps, and, good Lord willing, will be leaving for a two-year assignment in Eastern Europe working with urban youth after graduation. We are proud of her desire to serve there and are thankful to Messiah for helping her to develop her servant's heart to do the Lord's work!
Thank you again!
In Him,
Grant and Nan Vroman
