Messiah College Parents Council
The purpose of the Parents Council is to advise and assist the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations in developing effective parents programs and communications that both serve the interests and expectations of parents, as well as, involve parents as partners in supporting the mission of Messiah College.
The Council consists of approximately 26 individuals and couples with three to four family units representing each of the four current student class years. Members may serve as long as a son or daughter is enrolled at the College. Officers include a chair, assistant chair, and secretary.
The Parents Council meets twice annually on campus, with a fall meeting (September) and a spring meeting (March/April). The spring meeting is held in conjunction with the spring Alumni Council meeting. In addition, most Council members return to campus to participate in the annual Welcome Day activities held in August.
The staff of the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations provides administrative support to the Parents Council. The director of alumni and parent relations works closely with executive officers of the Parents Council to develop meeting agendas, recruit new members, and implement Council activities.
