Successful Record Breaking Homecoming
Messiah College welcomed over 3,000 alumni, family and friends to campus October 19-20 for Homecoming 2007. Thanks to everyone who came back to make the day a success. Stay tuned to the Homecoming website for updated photos from this year's activities.
Search Continues for Director of Alumni & Parent Relations
The search committee has decided to extend the search with an application deadline of January 4, 2008. Interested candidates should have at least 5 years experience in a communications, public relations or business context. Position description and application information are posted on the Human Resources website.
Messiah College Choral Arts Society Auditions
The Messiah College Choral Arts Society is auditioning members for the coming 62nd season. Auditions are November 15, 6-9:30 p.m.; November 16, 4-7:30 p.m. and January 8, 6-8 p.m. Call 691-6027 for an audition time. Conductor Linda Tedford would like you to bring a prepared piece of any style of music that shows your voice range. An accompanist will be provided. Those auditioning will also be asked to sight-read some music.
Rehearsals are Tuesdays 7-9:15 p.m. beginning January 22. The choir will perform Vaughan Williams' Dona Nobis Pacem and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the Harrisburg Symphony April 5 and 6. They will present their own concert of J.S. Bach's Cantata 140, Sleepers Wake and Buxtehude's Jesu Meine Freude on April 27.
Falcon Soccer NCAA Championship Playoff Games This Weekend
Women's Soccer: Messiah will travel to York College for the Sectional Round of the NCAA Tournament on November 17-18. The Falcons (20-0) will face the host Spartans (15-5-3) at 11:00 a.m. In the second game Wittenberg (18-2-3) will take on Ithaca (18-3) at 1:00 p.m. Sunday's game between the two advancing teams will kick off at 1:00 p.m.
Men's Soccer: The Messiah Men's Soccer team has been chosen to host one of four Sectional Championships to be held this weekend, beginning Saturday evening at 5:00 p.m. Four teams will be vying for a ticket to the 2007 Final Four to be held in Disney, FL-- Messiah College, The University of Rochester, Montclair State University, and New Jersey City University. The second match of the night will see host Messiah compete against UAA power Rochester at 7:30 p.m. See NCAA Sectional Championship for more information.
