Parents Council names new officers

Eugene Spencer, of Danville, Pa., has been named chair of the Parents Council for 2005–2006. Gene’s daughter, Kelsey, is a senior history education major. Gene is an associate vice president for information services and resources at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., and attends Trinity United Methodist Church in Danville, Pa. He has served on the Parents Council for the past three years.

Shana Wolfe

Shana Wolfe, of Greencastle, Pa., will serve as assistant chair of the Parents Council. Her daughter, Erin, is a junior broadcasting (formerly broadcasting, telecommunications, mass media) major. Shana works as director of business integrity for the Washington County Mental Health System, Inc., in Hagerstown, Md. She attends First United Methodist Church in Greencastle, Pa., and has a son, Matthew, who is a junior at Greencastle-Antrim High School. She has served on the Parents Council for two years.

George Slota, of Pittsburgh, Pa., will continue in his role as secretary. George and his wife, Peggy, have served on Parents Council for three years. Their son, Stephen, is a junior English major. George works as an engineer for Mittal Steel USA and Peggy is the administrative director for critical care services at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. They attend St. John & Paul Roman Catholic
Church in Sewickley, Pa.

The Parents Council serves fellow Messiah parents and guardians, advises the College on matters of interest to parents, and helps
