Dear Parents:
Welcome to the start of a new academic year at Messiah College! As parents, you are vital members of the Messiah community—and important partners in your daughters’ and sons’ educational experience. I look forward to interacting with you throughout your child’s career at Messiah.

The Parents Progress newsletter is one of many ways that the College will help keep you informed and involved during your child’s time at Messiah. In this issue, I invite you to read more about the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations and the College’s Residence Life program—two very important resources for parents of Messiah students. At Messiah, your son or daughter will encounter a community of deeply committed and caring Christian educators, administrators, and staff who are dedicated to students’ intellectual, personal, and spiritual growth.

This issue of the Parents Progress specifically features the importance of nurturing the spiritual development of students, including a special letter from Eldon Fry, Messiah’s College Pastor (see below). Whether this is your student’s first or senior year at Messiah, or somewhere in between, I am certain that your child will be rigorously challenged, encouraged, and supported to grow and mature.

I hope to meet many of you during Welcome Week and Family Weekend (scheduled for the last weekend in September). Thank you for your involvement in our campus community and for all that you contribute to Messiah College!
