Student Stories

“ Everyday I walk out the door and know that I have the opportunity to learn or experience something new. Whether it is in the classroom at Temple, interacting in our diverse community, or walking amongst the skyscrapers of center city, I know I have the opportunity learn something new everyday. ” - Joshua Solloway '07 Sports and Exercise Science Major

“I love that (Philadelphia) is so different form living in rural Grantham and small Messiah – I love the hugeness and the diversity and the variety of people you hear from in class and learn about in everyday interaction. I love being in the city because there is so much to learn and see everyday. There are also so many opportunities to serve God. ” - Kerri Myers '07 - Journalism Major

"I appreciate the diversity here, in culture and in class.  I love being surrounded by lots of people because they teach me things about their lives that I otherwise would not have known. Living side by side with people who are completely different than me is a true learning experience.” - Emily Powell '08 English Major

“My favorite part part of MCPC is our community.  Not just the community that MCPC offers, but also the surrounding community that makes Philly what it is.  MCPC is smaller, so you get to know everyone--in a good way though.  you are all learning and going through similar changes, changes that folks back at main campus may not understand.  Thus, a bond is formed and brothers and sisters in Christ are strengthened by eachother.
.” - Katie Beach '07 Social Work Major

"One thing I like about Philly is that there’s always something to do, whether it be a lecture on campus or sports down in South Philly. The students at the Philly campus seem to get to know each other better than students at Grantham, there is more of a feeling of community. Living in Philly can also get you outside of the Messiah bubble, but it also lends you a safe place to stay while in the city.” - John Cliver '07 Broadcasting, Telecommunications, and Mass Media Major
