Enrich, Enhance, Engage: Claim Your Education

Messiah's Philadelphia Campus offers a panorama of program types that cater to a variety of students' curricular goals and needs. While some academic majors, minors, and concentrations build time at the Messiah College-Philadelphia Campus into curriculum requirements, almost any student, regardless of his/her major, may attend to enrich and enhance learning experience.

While students attend the Messiah College- Philadelphia Campus, they may take courses at Temple University that meet major and minor requirements, general education requirements, or choose from abundant course offerings for elective courses. Students interested in meeting their cross-cultural requirement, becoming acquainted with urban studies and issues, or meeting three to four general education course requirements may want to complete Messiah's Urban Semester Program.

Students may also find an abundant number of internship opportunities in the city of Philadelphia.

Internships allow students to apply the tools and theory they've learned inthe classroom to a "real-world" setting. Additionally, our Internship Semester Program: "City, Vocation, and Christian Faith" offers students with junior and senior status the opportunitity to plan a semester of study around an internship experience while they reflect on the complexities of city life and the ways in which their discipline and faith can be integrated.

Each semester, students who attend Messiah's Philadelphia Campus are expected to enroll in at least one Messiah College- Philadelphia course. Messiah College faculty member Dr. Timothy Peterson has developed and implemented a unique pedagogical approach to teaching these urban based courses. These courses are designed to help students integrate their faith with their experiences in the city and at Temple University. Courses encourage students to actively engage their urban neighborhood and community as a "text and context" for their course work.
