Cross-Cultural Studies in Philadelphia

Teeming with a variety of ethnic cultures, the city of Philadelphia offers students a diverse context in which to explore a literal microcosm of the globe. In this setting, there are a number of ways students can meet the Messiah College general education cross-cultural studies requirement while studying at the Messiah College-Philadelphia Campus. Students may choose to complete the Urban Semester Program, a 15 credit-bearing mini curriculum offered fall and spring semesters, to waive the requirement. If their schedules do not permit them to complete the Urban Semester Program curriculum, students may also choose to enroll in the Philadelphia urban cross-cultural course offered each semester . For students whose disciplines do not allow room for them to participate in a full semester at Messiah's Philadelphia Campus, the campus offers a three-week long May term cross-cultural studies course.
