Ryan Gladwin
Ryan R. Gladwin ('98) returns to Messiah College as he is completing his PhD in Theological Ethics at the University of Edinburgh (Scotland). He has a BA in Christian Ministries and a minor in Spanish from Messiah and a Master of Divinity from Duke University Divinity School. In addition, he has completed studies at La Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador) and the University of
Tübinguen (Germany).
After his studies at Messiah, Ryan served as a missionary with Brethern in Christ World Missions in Colombia, where he was the head pastor of Veraguas BIC church in southern
Bogotá. He has lived and worked in pastoral and social ministry in urban settings in Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Scotland, and among Latino/as in his native Florida and North Carolina. His research interests include Latin American and Latino/a religion and theology, social ethics, Pentecostalism, Anabaptism, and ecclesiology. He comes to Messiah to teach undergraduate classes in theology and ethics and to serve as the Program Director of Messiah's Philadelphia Campus.
Ryan is married to Natalia, a native of Argentina, and they reside at the Philadelphia Campus in North Philadelphia with their two children.
