While Messiah College Philadelphia Campus shares a common vision, mission, and educational objectives with the Messiah College Grantham Campus, there is much that is distinctive and unique to the Philadelphia experience. Beyond our urban location, more intimate size, and integrated living-learning facility, the mode of our educational program differs as well.
At Messiah's Philadelphia Campus, every student is a member of our intentional learning-community; not just those living on designated floors or special interest housing. Moreover, every student is engaged in contextual learning through community-engagement with the world and people surrounding the campus. This learning community and the contextual learning undertaken by its scholar-learners through the Guided Discovery Program form the heart and soul of Community Life here at Messiah College Philadelphia Campus.
The Director of Community Life and a team of Resident Assistants (RAs) staff the Office of Community Life. RA's are paraprofessional peer educators who oversee the residences and facilitate a wide array of cocurricular educational programming through the Guided Discovery Program(GDP).
