Guided Discovery Program
As a student living in the heart of (North-Central) Philadelphia, each time you leave your residence, the world is yours to discover. It is one thing to read about cultural diversity, it's entirely different to live in the midst of an interethnic, multilingual, and religiously plural community. Visiting the city for a day or a weekend is tourism; becoming a resident, having a home church, learning public transit, and building relationships is inhabitation. In short, Guided Discovery is perfomance art--it is the difference between reading a Shakespeare play in a classroom and actually producing it on stage. Faculty and staff at Messiah College-Philadelphia Campus strive to guide you in your discovery of the city so that it becomes educationally purposeful and develops and nurtures you as an urban-oriented servant leader.
