During Monday evening meals we continue the Messiah College Philadelphia Campus' long-standing tradition of a weekly community gathering. This
Community Gathering takes a number of shapes throughout the year. Some weeks we invite neighbors from our community to speak to us on topics and issues relevant to our learning. Guests speak, lead discussion, and sometimes perform music or poetry. Other weeks our Gathering functions as a town hall meeting, allowing us to reflect on the semester or share our experiences and concerns amongst ourselves. And at other times, scholar-learners lead topical discussion on a current-events issue from local, national, or international news.
