2.    Artwork created since June 2007 in any Messiah art studio class.

3.    Work from Senior Show is not eligible.

1.    Failure to follow all instructions for entry requirements may (and probably will) negate the eligibility of the
artwork for consideration in this juried exhibition.

2.    All work must be finished and ready to install in the exhibition accompanied by appropriate installation
hardware.  Installation instructions must be supplied by the artist.

3.    All flat (two dimensional) artwork must be matted and mounted—preferably framed.
Even inexpensively framed artwork presents a more professional appearance.
TIP: Initial impressions can be all to a judge or jury.

4.    Artists are reminded that artwork will be on view for three months and the artwork must be
stable enough to withstand installation for the duration.

5.    Adhesive tape, paperclips or thumbtacks are not acceptable methods of securing artwork for display.
       See rule one (1).

6.    Artwork will be handled and installed with professional care.  However, the artist assumes all risks connected
with exhibition of the artwork.  No artwork will be covered by insurance.

  • Failure to follow all instructions for entry procedures may (and probably will) negate the eligibility of the artwork for consideration in this juried exhibition.

  • Each student may enter up to six (6) individual works in the contest.

  • Each work must be accompanied with a separate and complete entry form.

  • Entry forms will be available from all art faculty members and in the Art Department office.

  • The artwork must be delivered to the Aughinbaugh Gallery in Climenhaga (2D and Computer Art/Graphic Design) or  to the Ceramic Studio (all Mixed Media work) on Monday, May 5 between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM

  • Each student submitting artwork is required to return to the gallery on Wednesday, May 7 before 1:00 PM to retrieve artwork not accepted for the show.  Unclaimed work that has not been accepted cannot be stored and will be discarded.

  • Work accepted for the show will remain on view throughout the summer. Graduating seniors and others who cannot be on campus to reclaim their artwork on or about September 5, 2008
are required to make arrangements to have their work collected by someone else and will be asked to identify that person on the entry form.

1.    Students are advised to ask questions in advance rather than have their artwork summarily rejected upon
       submittal.

2.    Questions regarding rules of the competition and/or physical format of submittal may be directed to Sherron
        Biddle.  Email is best.   SBiddle@messiah.edu

3.    Questions regarding the suitability of individual pieces for exhibition should be directed to the Faculty
member for the class in which it was produced.
