Mentoring Partnership of Central PA
The Mentoring Partnership of Central Pennsylvania (MPCP), funded and founded by Messiah College’s Harrisburg Institute, was developed to provide support and capacity-building for youth mentoring organizations in the region. This partnership of 35 organizations works to ensure that all mentoring programs deliver quality services to young people in Harrisburg and beyond. The
partnership is composed of organizations ranging from established,
nationally-connected organizations like Big Brothers, Big Sisters, the Girl and Boy
Scouts, YWCA and the Salvation Army, to emerging organizations that focus on interest areas or neighborhoods. The programs offer one-on-one mentoring opportunities and small group instruction in anything from career skills to the arts to sports. All of these organizations share a deep commitment to building long term relationships between adults and young people who have the limited presence of positive role models in their lives. The stories they tell speak to the impact of their programs on young people and give a reason for hope.
