The final written recommendation of the cooperating teacher, college supervisor, and others are very important pieces of information for students as they interview for employment. The following information is helpful to prospective employers.
- Brief description of the assignment and teaching content:
- Type of school and community
- Types of students and ability levels
- Subject matter taught
- Unique programs and experiences
- Perceived strengths of student teacher's performance:
- Planning and preparation of lessons
- Teaching skills
- Communication, classroom management, and discipline skills (written, oral, articulation, etc.)
- Knowledge of subject matter
- Personal and professional qualities
- Interpersonal relationships with students, faculty and staff
- Areas needing further improvement
- Potential for growth as a beginning teacher
