Iron and Wine: The Shepherd's Dog

Anyone who is an Iron and Wine fan can easily recall the first time they heard the song "Love and Some Verses" from the album Our Endless Numbered Days. They could probably tell you what they were wearing--granted, it was probably a pair of jeans from Goodwill and some type of flannel. But in all seriousness, none can compare to Sam Beams' lyrics--folk tales in themselves--and the band's amazing gift to turn the simplest lines, played with the most eclectic combination of instruments, into complex folk music gold.

Iron and Wine's new album The Shepherd's Dog has built upon the already fantastic talents of this group, forming an amazing mixture of classic folk and experimental soft rock. From the beautiful imagery in “Carousel” to the undeniably well composed “Boy with a Coin,” The Shepherd’s Dog is a force to be reckoned with both in the dorm room and on the charts.

New Wave, More Music

The new managers are really excited for the year to begin.  We've been making a lot of changes around the station over the past month.  First off, we are finishing up the process of reorganizing our entire music collection to better assist our DJs find music that works for them.  Second, we've already started getting in some great and varied new music.  We've also got some great giveaways coming up from ABC West Lanes, Dominoes Pizza, and the Messiah College Student Union.  Also keep an eye out for some great concert tickets.  WVMM made some great progress last year and we hope to continue Andy, Mike, and Jeremy's hard work.
