Profile

Yoon Soo Lim joined the faculty of Messiah College as an Adjunct Instructor as part of the online MM program in choral conducting. Lim serves as the Director of Vocal Music at The Hill School where she directs 4 vocal ensembles, teaches music theory and music technology classes, and coordinates arts programs for students pursuing independent arts studies. 
A firm believer in student-centered learning, Lim dedicates her time building dynamic learning environments incorporating collaboration and innovation. Lim enjoys facilitating faculty professional developments and collaborates frequently with colleagues and educators worldwide. The National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) has named her as the 2013-2014 Teacher of the Future, recognizing her work and dedication to her students.  

Spanning almost 20 years, Lim has been teaching in colleges and private schools, educating students to become lifelong music advocates as performers and audiences. Throughout her teaching career, she has enjoyed conducting and preparing many children, youth, collegiate, community, and church choirs who have performed with The Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra, The Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, and The Philly Pops Orchestra.

Her professional affiliations include ACDA, OAKE, Chorus America, NAfME, PMEA, ISTE, NAIS, and Pi Kappa Lambda.
