Prior to coming to Messiah University, Mr. Devorick had a thirty-five year career as a music educator in public schools. He served as an elementary vocal music teacher in neighboring Mechanicsburg Area School District, and concluded his career at Red Land High School in the West Shore School District, where he directed several choral ensembles and directed musicals. Mr. Devorick has also had a long career in serving local churches as a choir director and organist, including positions at Camp Hill United Methodist and First United Methodist in Mechanicsburg. As a writer on musical topics, Mr. Devorick has published articles and reviews in Teaching Music (NAfME), The PMEA Journal, and The Choral Journal (ACDA).
