Dr. Stacey M. Carroll earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Connecticut at Storrs, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Boston College where she received the distinguished dissertation award. She is an ANCC certified adult health nurse practitioner and she currently works part time in geri-psych in addition to teaching.
Dr. Carroll has worked and taught in acute care, long-term care, acute rehabilitation, and community health. She is an editorial board member for the Journal of Nursing Education, a reviewer for the Journal of Psychosocial and Mental Health Nursing, and has been a guest editor for other peer-reviewed journals and book sections. She is a longtime member of Sigma Theta Tau, the international nursing honor society. Her areas of research/ publication include communication, media portrayals, stigma reduction, and accessibility.
