Profile

Dr. Patrice Whitley provides strategic vision and executive leadership for Pathways to Success initiatives at Pima Community College in Arizona. Before that appointment, she served as an Academic Dean at Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado. Dr. Whitley holds a Bachelor of Art in English with a concentration in Communication from the University of Maryland, a Master's of Education in Workforce Development from the University of Arkansas with a concentration in Andragogy, and Ed.D in Higher Education Leadership with a concentration in Adult Learning from Walden University.

Dr. Whitley, a contributory leader, finds passion and purpose in influencing positive changes that improve students’ ability to thrive academically, professionally, civically, culturally, and socially. In her 15 years of higher education experiences, Dr. Whitley has overseen executive level initiatives such as institutional strategic planning, capital building projects, curriculum development, academic research, resource and support services program implementation, and program assessment.
In addition to her work in higher education, Dr. Whitley is actively involved in several local community and national youth programs dedicated to educating, empowering, and enlightening youth to become critical thinkers and responsible citizens. Other community endeavors include advocating for solutions to food and housing insecurities and investing in affordable housing projects.

Dr. Whitley is originally from Baltimore, Maryland. Her personal, educational and professional background has allowed for opportunities to explore and live in various geographic locations. Dr. Whitley continues to enjoy traveling adventures and extreme outdoor activities with her fiancé, Loring and two children (Charis who is currently a junior in college and Xavier who is a senior in high school). Her other interests are spending quality time with extended family and friends.
