Fiona Barkley currently serves as the Head Volleyball Coach at Meredith College. While at Meredith, she has taken the program from a .222 conference winning percentage in her first year all the way up to .938 winning percentage. This includes two league championships and two trips to the NCAA tournament. In addition to her 13 years at Meredith College, Barkley (formerly MacPherson) has also coached at NC State University, Elon University, and Lynn University.

The years at Meredith College have also allowed Barkley to expand her experience of athletic operations into other aspects of the athletics department. She has held a variety of roles including Assistant Athletic Director for Development, Director of Meredith College Golf Classic, and Director of Athletics Banquet. Outside of these assigned roles, Barkley volunteered for Meredith’s Staff Affairs committee, served on the RFP committee for the campus Coke/Pepsi contract, and has been on hiring committees for coaches and athletics staff.

She has taught at Meredith College and is currently a guest lecturer in UNC Chapel Hill’s Exercise and Sports Science Department.
