Profile

Rebekkah entered nursing as a second career and spent the majority of her beside nursing career working as an ER and Trauma nurse. She then transitioned to a role as a trauma outreach coordinator and educator for a brief period of time, followed by three years as an Employee Health nurse, and has since returned to the bedside as an ER nurse where she continues to work on her days off from teaching. Her areas of interest and expertise include emergency and trauma nursing, palliative care, recruitment and retention of nurses and nursing students with disabilities, end-of-life nursing education, nursing ethics, and nursing leadership. Rebekkah has a passion for teaching and has experience teaching at the K-12 level, as well as teaching EMS, and teaching and being involved in education in the hospital setting. Prior to accepting a full-time faculty position, Rebekkah taught for Messiah University as an adjunct nursing professor. Rebekkah earned a BS in mathematics from Shippensburg University, a BSN from Pennsylvania State University, a MS in Nursing Administration from Messiah College and then returned to Messiah University to complete her CAGS in Nursing Education. Rebekkah is currently working on her DNP in Nursing Leadership at Messiah University with an estimated graduation date of August, 2023.

Rebekkah chose to become a nurse educator after discovering her passion for teaching and the classroom. Throughout her professional career, Rebekkah has always been drawn back to the world of academia, and this time she has decided to take root in that world. For Rebekkah teaching is a way to connect professionally and personally as well as share her knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm for the hardest job you will ever love. Rebekkah is excited to begin this new chapter of her career as full-time nursing faculty with Messiah University beginning in August, 2022.
