Profile

A native of Lima, Peru, Del Castillo-Zerbe has taught Spanish for 16 years at a number of area institutions. She has also worked with local businesses and nonprofits to improve Spanish communication skills.

Del Castillo-Zerbe presented a paper at the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language conference (2016) in San Diego, California. The paper focused on an innovative foreign language teaching strategy called In-Class Interviews, a teaching method that fosters communication, both oral and written, and promotes collaboration among students.

Del Castillo-Zerbe has lived in Mumbai, India, and Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, for a complete semester in each location. While in Blagoevgrad, she was a guest speaker at the South West University “Neofit Rilski,” where she presented a lecture entitled  “La historia culinaria del Perú, una influencia de culturas.”
