Interest and areas of expertise
Dr. Dickonson’s research interests include the sense-losing effect of posttraumatic grief and the realization of posttraumatic growth through intervening factors such as social support and spirituality. Dr. Dickonson provides online spiritually integrated psychotherapy to adults experiencing anxiety, mood disorders, grief and loss, trauma, dissociation, and anger.
Education
Dr. Dickonson graduated from Hunter College, City University of New York with a B.A. in Sociology and Community Counseling, and an M.S.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling. Dr. Dickonson graduated from Loyola University Maryland, with an M.S. in Mental Health (Pastoral) Counseling, and a Ph.D. is in Counselor Education and Supervision.

Dr. Dickonson is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland’s pastoral counseling program which has prepared her to integrate spirituality with psychology in her work.as a counselor and as an educator. Dr. Dickonson is a licensed clinical professional counselor who is skilled in treating a wide range of mental health and behavioral issues. As an educator she has taught foundational counseling as well as practicum courses. Dr. Dickonson is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Maryland Counseling Association (MCA). She has served as a board member of MCA as its Member-At-Large and has also served on MCA’s membership and awards committees.
