Silvana Boyd earned her BSN from Texas Christian University in 2000 upon which she was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army and spent the following ten years serving as a registered nurse in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. In 2012 she earned her MS as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) and spent the next ten years in the primary care setting and hospital administration. Upon retiring from the Army in 2020, Silvana continued her education and recently earned her DNP and Certificate in Nursing Education from the University of Cincinnati.

Silvana has a passion for health promotion and enjoys working with patients of all ages. She continues her vocation as a nurse practitioner conducting health assessments for Matrix Medical Network, encouraging patients play an active role in their health as they age. Silvana is excited to begin her career as a nurse educator with Messiah University.
