Profile

Matt graduated from Asbury University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in athletic training. He spent time working as an athletic trainer and strength coach in the Boston Red Sox organization and at a high school in Kentucky prior to returning to his alma mater as the Head Athletic Trainer and member of the exercise science faculty. During his time at Asbury, Matt completed his Master’s degree in athletic training at the University of Kentucky in 2009 and in the summer of 2014 completed his PhD in exercise science, also from the University of Kentucky. Matt began teaching at Messiah in 2013, and in 2018 he took over as the athletic training program director. Matt, his wife Rachel, son David, and daughter Caroline live in Mechanicsburg and attend the Harrisburg Brethren in Christ Church. When not at work, Matt can be found traveling with his family, running, mountain biking, hiking, reading, and cheering for the Red Sox and Patriots.
