Being a nurse has brought joy and growth for Dr. Gross. She is a first-generation college graduate and the first Registered Nurse in her family. Dr. Gross has over a decade of clinical experience in various units including community health, Medical-Surgical Intensive Care, and research. Prior to joining the Messiah University faculty in 2015, she worked as a nurse with Nurse-Family Partnership at PinnacleHealth. She maintains her vocation as a community health nurse at Penn Medicine: Lancaster General Health where she enjoys serving vulnerable and underserved populations in the community through various programs in South Central Pennsylvania.
Dr. Gross was a National League of Nursing Jonas Scholar and is currently involved in various organizations such as the Association of Community Health Nurse Educators (ACHNE). She is currently involved in the ACHNE research committee and has several projects and publications. In addition, she is an active member of Sigma, Nurses Christian Fellowship, and the Eastern Nursing Research Society. She serves as a reviewer for the peer-reviewed journal Nursing Forum and has been a grant reviewer for various organizations including the National League of Nursing and Eastern Nursing Research Society.
Dr. Gross and her husband Hunter have three young children and enjoy spending time outside, traveling, and gardening.
