As president of Manufacturing Automation Systems, ’95 graduate Matta Z. Rizkallah uses his engineering degree from Messiah College to run a highly-successful, nationally-recognized control systems integration company.
Through major and required courses, Rizhallah developed the skills necessary to become the president of Manufacturing Automation Systems, which specializes in the custom design and development of automation systems for manufacturing. Advocating both his major and general education courses, he says, “Some of the courses that I really didn’t value while I was taking them ended up being of great value, like programming and engineering economics.” He continues, praising the professors he studied under, as they greatly affected not only his academic career, but also his spiritual walk. He describes the professors as “…Fantastic. They are technically astute, and spiritually sound.”
According to Rizkallah, in order to choose the right college to suit your needs you must, “Pray for God’s leading – the number 1 priority.” He also advocates counseling with parents and trusted adults, asking lots of questions, and visiting many different colleges.
During their college careers, Rizkallah urges students to acquire internships in their prospective areas of study before actually entering into the workforce. He says, “Try to acquire internships… to really understand what the real-world work in that profession is like.”
Rigorous studying and strong leadership from mentors enabled Rizkallah to reach his career goals, and he enjoys the work that he does running Manufacturing Automation Systems. The skills he developed during his time at Messiah College prepared Rizkallah to pursue and reach his ambitious career goals.
