Una Martone is President & CEO of Leadership Harrisburg Area where she recently celebrated 10 years in this role. Leadership Harrisburg Area teaches servant leadership and effective community service in Cumberland, Dauphin, and Perry Counties. Una’s stamp on this 30+ year old organization has been the creation of new lines of programming, increased enrollment, and new community relationships. Una is known as a community connector ~ not only for Leadership Harrisburg Area and its alumni, but a connector among and between individuals, organizations, causes, and opportunities. She is always trying to help create WIN WIN (WIN) situations.
As an active Rotarian, Una is the 2017/18 District Governor for Rotary District 7390 which includes 7 Central PA Counties; 43 Rotary Clubs, and 2300 members. In this role, Una is one of 103 women in the same position across the world. This position is predicated upon Una’s past service as President of the Rotary Club of Harrisburg; President of the Harrisburg Rotary Foundation; and many additional leadership roles at club and district levels.
Una earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Central Florida and earned the CFRE distinction or Certified Fund Raising Executive for a history of successful fund raising. She graduated from Leadership Harrisburg Area’s Community Leadership Series Class of 2007. Una has completed the 3-part Rotary Leadership Institute as well as graduate courses in Public Speaking, Diversity, and Ethics. She is certified in Organizational Development from the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership and recently became certified as an Interpersonal Skills Trainer for The Color Code ~ which is now offered through Leadership Harrisburg Area.
A native Floridian, Una is a first generation American whose parents were both born in Ireland. Una is the youngest of seven children; aunt to 27 nieces and nephews; great aunt to 10 little ones; and Godmother to four. (The holidays are always an adventure!) Una currently lives with her spouse of 25 years, Mike; two children, Michael (22) and McCaffrey (18); and the family rescue dog, Teddy, in Mechanicsburg.
