Recent studies show large numbers of people, including on university campuses, sorting themselves into opposing “sides” or “teams” in response to controversial issues. Many see the need to be protected from ideas that conflict with the ones they hold. This is one expression of polarization and separation. So too are the various developments, both historical and contemporary, that led Messiah University to focus on the theme of reconciliation during this academic year. Join us to discuss how these two things relate to one another.
