Join a panel of students and participate in conversation regarding the relationship between viewpoint diversity and reconciliation.

Recent studies show large numbers of people, including on university campuses, sorting themselves into opposing “sides” or “teams” in response to controversial issues. Many see the need to be protected from ideas that conflict with the ones they hold. This is one expression of polarization and separation. So too are the various developments, both historical and contemporary, that led Messiah University to focus on the theme of reconciliation during this academic year.

This raises the question--How do these two themes relate to one another? Or--put another way--What has viewpoint diversity to do with reconciliation? Does the engagement with different points of view on controversial topics harm or help the work of reconciliation?

Join us on October 26th to hear a number of student panels respond to these questions and to contribute to the conversation yourself..
