Wesley Union AME Zion is Harrisburg’s oldest African-American church. Since 1816, it has sought to meet both the spiritual and physical needs of the congregation and the community. Over 200 years, this mission has led the church to serve as a station on the Underground Railroad, start the city’s first school for African-American children, rehabilitate vacant houses, and offer support to ex-offenders and those suffering from substance abuse. Rev. Miller as served as Wesley Union’s pastor since 2017, and leads worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. He earned his B.A. from Livingstone College, MDiv from Hood Theological Seminary, and DMin from United Theological Seminary. His favorite passage of scripture is Genesis 18:14 “Is there anything too hard for the LORD?”
