Web Services roadmap
The Web Services roadmap is a rolling plan that outlines a series of improvements, upgrades, and additional functionality that we plan to bring the Messiah's front-facing website and/or back-end Content Management System (CMS). These changes are driven by the changing needs of our front and back-end users.

Reorder the outcomes listing widget
Currently the alumni listing widget shows all alumni profiles in alphabetical order - http://www.messiah.edu/info/20487/our_alumni.
We are working to create additional functionality to allow CMS editors to order these profiles so that the most recent (new) profiles show first.
Feature requested by Beth Aumen
Web Services plans to develop a tab widget that will allow content editors to organize content in multiple tabs on a page.
Faculty Profile Edit Access
Accordion widget 2.0
The accordion widget is one of our most popular widgets. One current drawback is that accordions don’t automatically collapse when another one is expanded. Web Services is working to create a new accordion that will automatically collapse when another accordion is expanded.
Faculty and staff widget order
Add options to allow users to reorder the way faculty and alumni display in the faculty and alumni widgets.
Filter program outcomes by profession
Improve the functionality of the outcomes widget to allow filtering by profession vs. academic program.
Communication Department Webmaster
Video Widget (completed)
There is a YouTube widget available for homepages. You can see how to use it by watching our "Using the YouTube widget on Homepages" video available on our http://www.messiah.edu/tutorials listing or you can
access the video directly .
Slider widget (completed)
We have had a number of request for a slider widget with similar functionality as the slider on Messiah's homepage.
Dec. 3 2015
The slider is complete and is currently available in Jadu
Social media supplement (completed)
We are in the process of developing a new supplement that will allow content editors to easily add social media icons to their pages in the left column under the navigation. This supplement will have pre-loaded social media icons making it easy for departments and offices to quickly create highly visible links to their social media accounts.
Event widget with thumbnail image (completed)
We are in the process of developing a widget for upcoming events that will include a large (200px by 200px) thumbnail image along with a detailed summery of the event and a link to visit the event homepage.
This widget is complete, but is being tested before release.
Quick links widget 2.0 (completed)
Multiple content editors have ask about having access to a "quick links" widget. A few custom developed "quick links" elements have been created across the site for high traffic areas like on the UG admissions -
http://www.messiah.edu/info/21083/undergraduate_admissions (top right of page).
Web Services is in the process of building a "quick links" widget that would allow content editors to easily create and publish quick links on their site.
This is complete and the widget is live and can be found in the homepage editor.
Easy edit button (completed)
We have heard from multiple Jadu users that finding a page in the CMS can be difficult and confusing. Is it a homepage, document page, etc?
We are currently investigating a way to include an “easy edit” button in the footer of the public page. The “easy edit” button would allow a user to jump directly into the CMS to edit the page without having to search.
Update (July 29th, 2015):
This feature is now live. Check your email for more details.
