Curriculum - Department of Politics and International Relations

Courses and curriculum

Courses in American government, history of political thought, international politics and comparative politics give you a solid foundation as you prepare to expand your knowledge of politics and international relations. As you advance through the major, you’ll dive deeper into policy, ethics, research, and global and social politics courses. You can
even take a class on preparing for public service. All students take a similar sequence of core courses; then you have the opportunity to declare a concentration in either political studies or international relations.
