We are pleased to host Audrey Assad for a concert and brief afternoon workshop on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Spend part of your afternoon learning with fellow worship leaders, pastors, priests, and lay leaders about the current climate of musical artistry in the church and parish, and how we might serve as better leaders and facilitators of worship in our respective contexts. Then, join us in the Hostetter Chapel for a scrumptious dinner catered by our own award-winning Two Bridges Catering staff. The evening will culminate in a concert of musical worship with Audrey Assad in Parmer Hall. You can learn more about her by visiting Audrey's website.
What You Will Learn:
- Musical artistry in the church/parish
- Influence of culture on worship/liturgy
- Incorporating Scripture in a meaningful way in musical settings of worship
Audrey Assad will join us from 3:00-4:00 to discuss ways to feed the heart and mind of songwriters and worship leaders who serve the church, including devotional practices, reading recommendations, and the orthopraxy of an artist!
Douglas Curry, Eric Byrd, and Dave Helmuth will then lead a workshop from 4:00-5:00 on practical/fresh ways to include Scripture in the context of musical worship, representing at least three unique styles/forms for use in the church and parish.
Catered by the award-winning Two Bridges Catering, and held in the historic Hostetter Chapel on campus. Multiple dining options available at this buffet dinner, including accommodations for those with special dietary restrictions or needs.
