The Writer’s Reference
This handbook is an excellent manual to guide you through every writing project in college and beyond Did you know the Writer’s Reference includes information on how to write a business memo? it also instruct on academic reading and writing that is the foundation for those projects. From a formal research paper to your first resume, the Writer’s Reference can assist you with example projects, general guidelines, and writing mechanics. You access this through your Canvas Dashboard as its own separate course. It is an ebook whose page numbers are the same as the paper copies in the library. You will have access to it for the four years you are at Messiah College.
In addition to instructional materials, Messiah College also offers the services of the Writing Center. Staffed by peer tutors, you can bring any project in any stage of the process -- from a blank page to a finished draft -- and have a conversation about your goals and how to meet them. You can bring in projects that are for school or are extracurricular, such as applying for a scholarship or writing an entrance essay for grad school.
