12 noon, Commencement celebration concludes for the Class of 2020

Class of 2020 graduates and their guests are asked to please leave Starry Athletic Complex by 12 noon in order to accommodate the incoming guests and traffic for the Class of 2021 Commencement ceremony which follows. 2020 graduates and their guests are invited to visit the Campus Store and/or take photos at other locations across campus. As a reminder, masks and physical distancing must be maintained while on campus for all Commencement festivities.

VERY IMPORTANT:

It will be important to continue to check this website and your Messiah email frequently for any changes or updates. Messiah's Commencement planning is tightly integrated with changing federal and state restrictions related to COVID-19, and aspects of the ceremony are subject to change as the University adjusts its planning in response.

What if it rains?

Inclement weather plan

It is the University's strong preference to hold the Commencement Ceremony outdoors as scheduled in order to accommodate family members and guests. However, in the event of severe inclement weather, Commencement will be moved indoors to Hitchcock Arena. If this occurs, regrettably, only the graduates will be able to attend in-person, due to the state's COVID-19 related restrictions for indoor gatherings. All ceremonies, however, will be livestreamed so that guests may watch remotely.
