What type of campus visit is right for you?

If you’re a junior or senior in high school, it’s that time: college visits. Visiting a college campus can be one of the best ways to determine if it is the right fit for you. It is important to encounter the college as a whole –from walking around campus, tasting the food in the dining halls, engaging with students, observing a class and so much more.

At Messiah College, we offer several different types of visits, each designed to help you experience the college in a variety of ways. You can select whichever visit meets your needs and timeframe!

There are six different ways to visit:

Open house:

Visiting an open house is a great way to get a big picture look at Messiah. You will take a campus tour; learn about different majors, financial aid and career preparation services we offer; try the food in Lottie Nelson Dining Hall; and meet current students and faculty as you interact with people on campus. This type of visit typically runs on a specific day beginning around 8 or 9 a.m. and lasting until 2 p.m. Lunch is included for the registered guests as well!

Individual visit:

An individual visit is perfect for you if your schedule is super  busy! You’ll spend just a few hours on campus with personalized appointments set up just for you. With this type of visit, you can choose to tour campus, attend an admissions information session, attend a class and even meet with a professor or coach (depending on class schedules and faculty availability). You can also enjoy a delicious meal in Lottie Nelson Dining Hall! Individual visits are available weekdays and select Saturdays.

Spotlight Day:

Spotlight Days are offered in the fall and are a chance to dive deeper into your specific school of interest (School of the Arts; School of Business, Education and Social Sciences; School of the Humanities; and School of Science, Engineering and Health), as well as the campus community. Based on your academic school, you will have the opportunity to hear from faculty, tour specialized facilities, experience community life and hear the outcomes of a Messiah College education. These days typically begin around 9 a.m. and last until 2 p.m.

Accepted Student Preview Day:

If you are an accepted student, you do not want to miss an Accepted Student Preview Day! It is a great way to become more familiar with the place you are about to call home. Each academic school has prepared a special preview day just for you. The day consists of academic advising led by faculty in your department, connecting with other prospective students, engaging with student life and even networking with recent alums.

Overnight Stay:

The best way to picture yourself as a Messiah College student is by staying overnight on campus. You will have the opportunity to sleep in a residence hall, eat meals in campus restaurants and get a glimpse into the life of a current student. Overnight visits occur prior to each event day (open house, Spotlight, and Accepted Student Preview Days) and a select few other days. You must be a current junior or senior (or transfer student) to attend.
