Messiah University and York College of Pennsylvania enter enrollment agreement for Messiah’s MSAT program

Messiah University and York College of Pennsylvania (YCP) are excited to announce a bachelor’s + 2 MSAT enrollment partnership. Recently, the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) mandated that an individual must have a Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) from an accredited program to take the Board of Certification Examination, which is required to practice.

“We are thrilled to partner with YCP, a peer south-central Pennsylvania institution that shares Messiah’s long-standing commitment to student-centered, high-impact education, experiential learning and community engagement,” said Rob Pepper, associate provost for graduate and professional studies and university partnerships at Messiah University. “We are hopeful that in the years to come, graduates of YCP will stay local for graduate studies in athletic training, earning the MSAT from Messiah and becoming clinicians in the greater York-Harrisburg-Lancaster region.”

The enrollment agreement allows YCP students who complete a bachelor’s degree to move into Messiah’s MSAT program. YCP will pre-screen interested YCP students as early as the spring of their junior year. YCP will ensure that the students meet all Messiah University MSAT admission requirements. Students may pursue any undergraduate degree as long as they successfully complete Messiah University MSAT prerequisites.
