VITA - Volunteer Income Tax Assistance - available Monday evenings only!
Messiah University is partnering with the United Way of the Capital Region and offering employees, students and the community free tax services through the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program.
Families (2 or more people) who made $69,000 or less and individuals who made $48,000 or less in 2025 may be eligible to receive FREE tax preparation through the Money in Your Picket (MIYP) program!
The Messiah University site will be open every Monday evening, except for March 9th and April 6th, from February 23 until April 13th. The hours are 5:30 pm– 7:30 pm. Appointments are not needed nor accepted. The site is located in Frey 156.
You MUST bring the following documents to have your taxes prepared:
- Valid photo ID (driver’s license, military ID, etc.) for taxpayer and spouse.
- Original Social Security card for everyone on the tax return.
- Printed copies of all year-end tax forms you have received.
- Form 1095-A if you received health care from the marketplace
