Krista Imbesi is an Associate Professor of Film & Media Arts at Messiah University, where she has taught for over a decade. A documentary filmmaker and editor, she co-runs the production company CAP Collective with her husband, creating branding, promotional, and documentary work for regional and international clients. Her films explore global and local stories of community, justice, and resilience, including Where We Belong, and Our Feet Are Rooted, both filmed in Uganda and screened internationally with multiple awards. At Messiah, Krista teaches courses in documentary, editing, basic cinematography and production, global indigenous cinema and mentoring students through hands-on creative practice and collaborative storytelling. She holds an MFA in Media Arts from the University at Buffalo and previously worked with the International Documentary Association as well as on HBO and Sundance recognized documentary projects.
