Master of Social Work (MSW)
Messiah University’s graduate program in social work equips students to be thoughtful, ethical and effective social work professionals grounded in a Christian worldview. Rooted in a commitment to service, justice and academic excellence, the program prepares you to respond to the needs of individuals, families and communities with both compassion and competence.
Guided by experienced, supportive faculty who are active in the field, you’ll gain a strong foundation in social work theory and practice—while exploring how faith informs your calling to serve others. With a specialization in Advanced Generalist practice, our program develops versatile leaders ready to make a meaningful impact across a variety of professional settings.
The mission of the MSW program at Messiah University is to prepare competent and ethical advanced social work practitioners for lives of service and leadership in the context of Christian faith and with a commitment to social, racial, economic, and environmental justice and reconciliation.
The MSW program at Messiah University does not grant social work course credit for life experience or for previous work experience.
