Messiah University’s Master of Education with a degree track in curriculum and instruction allows you to improve your skills in teaching, leadership and collaboration. Students in PK-12 school settings, or other training venues, will learn many competencies that will enhance their teaching to bring about measurable results. This degree track fulfills many school districts’ graduate degree requirements for job security or higher earning potential. This degree may also serve to qualify graduates for positions as school administrators.
The curriculum and instruction track is designed for individuals who may or may not hold teaching certification and who want to enhance their effectiveness as education practitioners, leaders and collaborators.
Messiah University is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Higher Education. It is the highest accrediting authority recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for degree-granting colleges and universities located in Pennsylvania, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and several other locations internationally. Messiah’s teaching certification programs are accredited by the PA Department of Education.

The curriculum for the Master of Education in curriculum and instruction is designed for busy professionals and includes both theory and field experiences.
With Messiah’s no-fee tuition, there are no additional university charges for labs, courses, services or technology. While some programs may involve additional expenses such as materials, travel or other external costs that vary by student, you won’t encounter unexpected fees from Messiah. This approach allows you to clearly understand and plan for the tuition portion of your graduate education.

No-fee tuition per graduate credit hour: $820
Tuition cost for the entire program at the 2026-2027 rate: ranges from $24,600 (30 credits) to $63,960 (78 credits)
M.Ed. students are eligible to apply for federal financial aid. Tuition is subject to annual adjustment; historically, increases have averaged approximately 2-3% per year.
