Juneteenth
Juneteenth is not just about Black history; it recognizes a critically important element of American history. As a federal holiday, Juneteenth is a long overdue recognition and commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States, of the 13th Amendment, of the Emancipation Proclamation, and of African American freedom and achievement. As an educational institution, it’s also an opportunity to advance the knowledge and awareness in our community.
Messiah University has created this resource page with the hope and expectation that employees take the opportunity to read and explore historical stories of perseverance and the journey to this important celebration.
