Undergraduate research

Undergraduate research is a high impact practice in higher education and an opportunity available to students at Messiah University.  Undergraduate research allows students to work alongside faculty on collaborative research projects.  Students work on projects of their own choosing, whether that be long-term projects that are part of a faculty member’s work, or unique projects chosen by the student.  Undergraduate research allows students to integrate multiple areas of their classroom education, ask important questions, and plan the path needed to answer those questions.  One-on-one mentorship with a faculty member is invaluable to student growth as a professional in their field.  These projects are critical in helping students discern their future vocational goals.
