CONTACT: Beth L. Lorow Messiah College Jazz Combos to perform GRANTHAM, Pa. (Oct. 13, 2005) — The Messiah College Jazz Combos will present an evening of jazz music on Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. in Poorman Recital Hall in the Climenhaga Fine Arts Center on the college’s Grantham campus. The concert is free and open to the public. Directed by Kirk Reese, jazz pianist and adjunct instructor of music at Messiah College, the combos will perform selections from various jazz eras, including the music of Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk and Chick Corea, as well as original jazz arrangements of Christian songs. The atmosphere will be “coffeehouse” style, with light refreshments available during and after the performance. Messiah College, a private Christian college of the liberal and applied arts and sciences, enrolls more than 2,900 undergraduate students in 50 majors. Established in 1909, the primary campus is located in Grantham, Pa., near the state capital of Harrisburg.
