Website accessibility statement

Goal: "To be equally effective and equally integrated"

Messiah University is committed to making its websites accessible to the widest possible audience, and actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our websites.

Messiah University aims to achieve the WCAG2-AA standard of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities.

We are building our forms to be easily navigated with screen readers, and we are providing viewing options and text enhancement for our visually impaired visitors.

While Messiah University does strive to meet accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, we continually seek out solutions that will bring all areas of our websites up to the same level of overall web accessibility. Using Deque University accessibility certification training and a number of accessibility testing tools, we are continually learning and updating our site to be equally effective and integrated. If you require any information from this website in an alternative format, or having any issues accessing the content, please email us at webmaster@messiah.edu.

We have been making strides on becoming more accessibile using SiteImprove since July 2016, but have only started saving reports since June 2017.  We are currently using Monsido to assist us in finding accessibility issues that need to be fixed. We are improving the website continuously through the use of website quality assurance and accessibility tools, along with manual testing.
