The Agape Center Student Staff

The Agapé Center for Local & Global Engagement employs 18 students who contribute to the planning, support, and execution of our weekly outreach service opportunities, service trips, and office organization. In addition, they bring a lot of energy and fun to our office!

Assistant Director + Domestic Service Trips Coordinator

The Assistant Outreach Director assists with providing leadership, direction, and support for student volunteer teams on campus and within the surrounding community. Mireliz provides leadership and vision for Domestic Service Trips, which are scheduled to take place during Fall Break 2024. Contact Mireliz if you are interested in learning more about upcoming trips or serving as a driver, student team leader or participant.

Bethesda Hotspot Coordinator

Bethesda Mission's Community Center is a space where students can come and hang out with friends in a supportive and caring environment. Messiah student volunteers spend time with and build relationships with middle and high school students through activities like board games, video games, or playing sports. Bethesda Men's & Mobile Mission Coordinator

Bethesda Mission is an organization focused on providing shelter, food, and clothing to the poor and homeless while sharing the news of Jesus Christ. Students who serve with the Mobile Mission travel in a supply van to provide materials and social support to residents of Harrisburg experiencing homelessness. Students serving in the men's shelter serve food in the cafeteria then join the residents to share a meal and fellowship. Bethesda After-School Coordinator

Bethesda Mission's Community Center is a space where students can come and hang out with friends in a supportive and caring environment. At the after-school program, Messiah students build relationships with elementary and middle school kids through play and homework help. Center for Champions Coordinator

Center for Champions strives to provide one-on-one relationships between a Christian mentor and Harrisburg youth to help them discover God's plan for their lives. Through the Agapé Center, students connect with middle school kids through team competitions, Bible lessons, and one-on-one mentoring. Messiah Lifeways 1:1 Coordinator

Messiah Lifeways is a non-profit retirement community that seeks to provide residential community services to older adults with Christ-like love. Through the Agapé Center, students can develop a one-on-one relationship with a resident of the Messiah Lifeways community. Contact Melody if you are interested in serving with Messiah Lifeways 1:1!

New Hope Ministries is a social service agency that aims to transform lives by serving others in their times of need through the love and hope of Christ. PAIRWN is a non-profit organization that aims to empower female immigrants and refugees through training and fellowship. Paxton Ministries is a non-profit organization that provides affordable housing and support services to adults challenged with poverty, mental illness, and intellectual disabilities. The students serving with the Agapé Center help facilitate weekly activities aimed at having fun and building new friendships with residents. Salvation Army After-School Coordinator

The Salvation Army is an interracial, non-profit organization that seeks to share the gospel by meeting the basic needs of the individuals they serve. With the Agapé Center, students can build relationships with elementary- aged children by assisting with homework and participating in fun activities. Wildheart Ministries is a non-profit organization that seeks to share the transforming power of the Gospel by empowering residents of Allison Hill and restoring the community. With the Agapé Center, students would assist with community beautification projects, community gardening, and community events.
