Department of Nursing First Semester Blueprints
Department of Nursing
When planning your first semester…
- All First-Year students are required to take First Year Seminar their first term. This is a required course, and each section focuses on a different topic for students to explore.
- Science labs meet approximately three hours once a week. As you arrange your class schedule,
consider the meeting times of labs first, then design the rest of your schedule around them. - We strongly suggest you take only one of the required 4 credit lab science courses during your first semester. We recommend BIOL 185 in the first-year fall and CHEM 103 in the second-year fall semester. If you have already satisfied BIOL 185, then register for CHEM 103. If you are planning to study abroad in the fall of sophomore year, you should consider taking both CHEM 103 and BIOL 185 in the first-year fall semester. If you plan to study abroad and choose to only take one lab science course in the first-year fall, it may require you to take a summer lab science course in order to stay on track.
- Students who have earned AP, CLEP, or IB credit should refer to the information provided here: AP, CLEP, IB Credit.
- You can view the most up-to-date version of the schedule of classes by accessing The View.
