Mindy Smith, Ed.D.

Dr. Mindy Smith is an alumna of Messiah and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education. After graduating from Messiah, she taught high school Health Education and served as a varsity girls' soccer coach, while completing her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and Physical Education at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD. Dr. Smith completed her EdD in Kinesiology through the University of North Carolina in Greensboro.

Dr. Smith is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through NSCA, as well as a certified Mat Pilates instructor. Her primary research interests are within sport and exercise psychology, including program design and support for collegiate student-athletes in the transition to lifetime physical activity after graduation. Dr. Smith also has a strong interest in community engagement and health promotion. Dr. Smith has presented at numerous professional conferences, and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Smith loves to trail run, garden, make food for people and spend time outside with her family (and usually a soccer ball!). She lives in Dillsburg with her husband, Brent, daughter, Kendi and son, Kiptyn.
